Ashley Dawson-Bottorff is an educational consultant serving schools, parents, and any agency that ​desires to improve how they serve all individuals - specifically those with disabilities. She has served ​in the school setting for over two decades as a teacher of students with exceptional learning needs, ​as a coordinator for special programming in a large urban school district, and as an instructional ​coach. She has worked with students and staff in preschool through 12th grade and in a variety of ​environments. In all of her roles, Ashley has had a focus on continuous improvement of her own ​skills, as well as supportive coaching of others, in order to improve student outcomes. She has been ​especially passionate about developing others’ skills in positive behavior supports, tiered ​interventions, and effective use of technology to support student needs. Current projects include ​providing professional development to school staff regarding best practices for teaching students ​with disabilities and serving as an advocate in IEP meetings in order to ensure students receive free ​appropriate public education.

In 2000, Ashley obtained her BA in Special Education with a minor in Educational Technology at ​Purdue University. She later attended Ball State University to obtain her MA in Special Education ​with a focus on Director of Exceptional Needs licensure. Ashley also holds a P-12 building principal ​license in Indiana.

Ashley lives in the Indianapolis area with her husband, three children, and three dogs. She enjoys ​gardening, hiking, working on a variety of craft projects, and cheering on the Purdue Boilermakers.
